Our Purpose and Mission

At Ella's Umbrella, our purpose is to keep kids’ hearts beating. We accomplish this through our mission of providing inspiration, connections and resources to save kids with heart conditions. We are guided by the core values of optimism, thoughtfulness, community, excellence, and integrity.

Application Process

The following application offers us an opportunity to know more about you, your
skills, attributes, and what you would bring to our board. It also gives you a sense of
what matters to us in any board candidate. The goal of our process is to determine if we are a good fit for each other.

Board Service Overview

As a board member, you will support and promote our mission while bringing your skills and expertise to strategic decision-making. Each board member is elected to serve for a term of two years or until his or her successor has been elected. 

Board members are expected to:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings 
  • Serve on at least one committee
  • Attend key fundraising events
  • Support fundraising by giving (time/talent/treasure) personally and cultivating relationships for the benefit of the nonprofit
  • Uphold fiduciary duties

Time Commitment
The requested minimum time commitment is 2-4 hours per month, including meetings, preparation, events, and committee participation.
