Uplifting Grieving Hearts
Moving Forward with Hope
Grief can be very isolating. Everyone processes loss differently and there is no “right” thing to say or do. Tragedy often leaves people feeling powerless. Our goal is to uplift and empower those impacted by loss. We want to surround hurting people with connections and resources to help them move forward with hope.

Leadership Summit
For those who have taken the step to form an organization in honor of a loved one, we would like to invite you to our Leadership Summit in St. Louis. We’re all facing similar challenges, and we want to learn from each other, identify gaps, and help remove barriers together. The Summit will take place in the fall. More details to come.
Resources
One of the most profound aspects of Ella’s legacy is the way she uniquely equipped us to support others who are grieving. It began with people asking for advice on how to best support others facing unimaginable loss. Then, we started meeting directly with bereaved people to offer encouragement. Our tragedy had created an ability for us to show up in messy moments with people and have healing conversations. Our biggest limitation has been our bandwidth. We can’t take every hurting person to dinner. This is what drove us to create resources that could be shared more broadly.
Unraveled
When Loss Changes Everything
When tragedy strikes, it often leaves people speechless. Nothing can really “fix” what is wrong, and words can feel like salt in an open wound. If you have found yourself in one of these situations, we want to help. Although it is true that there is no perfect thing to say, connecting with others who have been down a similar path and emerged with hope is a great starting place. That’s why we wrote the book, Unraveled: When Loss Changes Everything.
Our desire was to help fill the gap for when people don’t know what to say by creating a resource that would have been helpful to us in the wake of our loss. After reflecting on our journey, we gathered all our thoughts and considered what we would say if we were going to walk our very best friend through an unimaginable tragedy. The book is a heartfelt narrative that can be read in under two hours. Whether you have personally experienced a loss, or are supporting someone else, we hope you find it as a helpful resource.
"This book provides realistic advice and tips on how to navigate your grief. While it was written by parents who lost a child, it is completely applicable to all those who grieve. As one who recently lost a parent unexpectedly, this book was like a walk with a friend who has been there and has all the right things to say."

Never Far Apart
Wonderful book to read to young children who have experienced grief and loss. It is written in a way that offers hope through the grief, providing a positive outlook on how love continues to live on, even after the loss. Also offers concrete suggestions on how to help children cope with grief.
